I don’t understand the application, how does it work?
Have a look at our manual for Primuss, it explains how to use the application step by step.
Will I receive an e-mail with the results of the lottery?

It doesn‘t work, I can’t select courses, what’s wrong?

No. If you do not meet all requirements of a course OR the class is overbooked OR you don’t show up to the first day of class you might lose your place. Please check your emails regularly in case a department or lecturer contacts you.
If you have received a place for a YELLOW course through the lottery, and you are not enrolled in the respective department you might receive an email cancelling your spot. If you have received a place for a RED course through the lottery, and you are not enrolled in the respective department you will receive an email cancelling your spot or lose your place on the first day of class.

Is it a problem if I don’t speak German?
Munich is one of Germany’s largest and most modern cities and visited by lots of international tourists every year. This means that many people do speak English and a couple of signs and provided information are bilingual.
Nevertheless, learning at least a couple German phrases (or even Bavarian) will be really helpful in your daily life and much appreciated by locals.
Which public transportation ticket should I use?
If you need to get to the university using public transportation, the cheapest ticket (even though it might at first not seem like it) is the “Semesterticket”, costing approximately 195€ per semester (not per month!).
You can buy it at every railway station, every U-Bahn Station and very many tram stations as well as on buses. Therefore you will need your 11-digit MUAS student ID number, which you can simply find on your student ID. Make sure you’re selecting the correct semester (winter or summer) and don’t forget to always have an official ID to confirm that it’s you using the ticket if there is a strict ticket inspector.
