General Information
Exams & Homework
At the Department of Tourism in general all courses (except projects and seminars) are held as lectures. The professors provide learning materials and book recomendations and share relevant content for the final exams.
At the end of the semester every course has just one final exam or presentation. During the semester there is, depending on the subject, mostly few homework, so the students are responsible for their own studying progress.
Grading System
European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)
The European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) was developed by the European Commission to ensure a common method of academic accreditation for international study. Per class you can reach a certain amount of ECTS, based on the student workload to achieve the objectives and learning outcomes of a module or programme of study. Students can achieve 60 ECTS credits in the academic year and usually study 30 credits per semester. Credits are only awarded if the course has been completed and all course achievements and examinations have been passed in accordance with the examination regulations.
