1. Oktoberfest!
Munich is basically Oktoberfest! Sure, there is much more to do in Munich but let’s be honest: it is the most amazing, best known and biggest beer festival you’ve ever been to! I mean there is a reason why locals just like tourists love it and celebrate it every year! So, there is no excuse to miss it! It is the ultimate Munich experience. And if you already feel like a real Bavarian you’ll just call it “Wiesn” like the locals do!
2. Tollwood Festival
Concerts, performances, food and handicrafts market, visual art and party area: that’s the Tollwood Festival. A unique atmosphere with so much to see, explore and to hear. Our top tip: the silent disco. You’ll dance with headphones on and can choose the music yourself. A quite special party experience! And one more tip: sit down on the Olympia hill with friends and a picnic and listen to the bands & singers playing at the festival.
3. Stustaculum
The biggest student music festival in Germany! Reason enough to dance to different bands, drink a cold beer and meet new local students!

4. Tunix Open Air
Another Open-Air music festival organised by students. Dance in the middle of Munich at the famous Königsplatz! Enjoy your time with friends at the Biergarten or relax at the chill out lounge. Entry is free so no doubt that we’re going!

5. Klassik am Odeonsplatz
One of the biggest cultural events in Munich. The symphony orchestra and soloists will leave you speechless! The festival at Odeonsplatz promises the best of classical music in special surroundings with a memorable atmosphere.
You definitely shouldn’t miss the classical open air concert!
6. Kocherlball
Start your day right: with dancing! The traditional Kocherball takes place early in the morning around the Chinese tower at the English garden. You won’t find such an event anywhere else! The tradition goes back to the 19th century and nowadays you still feel that vibe! And for sure everybody will be wearing traditional clothing like Dirndl, Lederhosen as well as traditional accessories.

7. Streetlife Festival
Streetlife festival – the name says it all. You can’t really put into words what you’ll experience as there is always so much to see, to listen to, to contribute and to join. Our highlight was definitely the headphone outdoor party where you’ll dance to different channels playing on your headphones. Never been to such a party? Then it’s time to experience that!
8. St. Patricks Day Parade
Guess you already know that. Green dressed people everywhere, Irish music, those green people dancing to that music and everybody is just happy and enjoying the Irish vibes. The highlight will be the big parade and for sure the Guiness!

9. Starkbierfest
Translated it is the strong beer festival. So, another justification to celebrate the German beer! Which is amazing, you probably already know that now. Just this time it`s even stronger and you’ll tell us after trying some at different breweries or beer halls if you like it better than the “normal” one.

10. Gärtnerplatzfestival
One of the most loved meeting spots of students. During the festival it will even get better as there will be a lot of musicians playing around our favourite square. Relaxed atmosphere and music for free. Relax & enjoy summer!
11. Isle of Summer Festivals
Summer vibes, open air, house and techno music. The different open-air locations are the perfect setting for a day and night of dancing. This festival is a must for all electronic music lovers!

12. Christmas Markets
The most wonderful time of the year. That means that one of the most special highlight events in Munich happens again: the gorgeous Christmas markets. The beautiful, sparkling little huts offer amazing mulled wine, handicrafts, German culinary delights and Christmassy music. Soak up the festive spirit! You definitely have to try the Feuerzangenbowle, it is kind of similar to the mulled wine but it got a burning sugar cube and tastes amazing! All of them got a special atmosphere but our favourite Christmas markets are surely the Christmas market at the Chinese Tower in the English garden, the Christmas market in the beautiful surroundings of the Munich residence, the Tollwood Winter festival, the unique pink Christmas market which is the official gay market and of course the famous Christmas market at the Marienplatz.

13. OBEN OHNE Festival
Another music and culture festival organised by young people for young people. It is uncommercial and the interests of young adults is the focus. Furthermore, the inclusion of everyone and everybody is important here! So be open-minded and dance to national and international acts at the famous surroundings of the Königsplatz.

14. Munich Mash festival
Pure summer feeling. We love that at the Munich Mash festival you can go wakeboarding and do stand-up paddle boarding on the Olympia lake. How amazing is that?! On top of that there will be night flea markets, concerts and shows and you got to shop handicrafts & indulge yourself with amazing food. That is how summer in Munich will be easily enjoyed.
